1. Introduction
These General Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the rental of vehicles from S Car. By signing or electronically accepting the rental agreement, the customer ("Renter") acknowledges that they have read, understood, and fully accepted these Terms.
2. Driver Age and Driving Licence
The renter and any additional driver must be at least 21 years old.
The maximum driver age is 79 years.
A 5% Young Driver Fee applies to drivers aged 21–25.
The driver must hold a valid driving licence for at least 2 years.
Accepted driving licence types: EU, UK, USA, non-EU Latin, Canada, Australia, Israel, Switzerland.
For driving licences issued in non-Latin characters, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required.
A valid passport or national identity card must be presented upon vehicle collection.
3. Reservations and Vehicle Categories
Reservations are made by vehicle category. A specific vehicle model cannot be guaranteed.
If the reserved vehicle is unavailable, a similar vehicle within the same category will be provided.
4. Rental Period, Extension and Late Return
The minimum rental period is 24 hours.
Rental extensions are possible only after prior approval from the company.
A 1-hour grace period applies after the agreed return time.
Late returns will be charged as an additional full rental day.
No refund will be given for early vehicle returns.
5. Payment Methods
Accepted payment methods are: Online Credit Card, Online Debit Card, Cash upon Collection, Credit Card upon Collection, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Debit Card upon Collection, Bank Transfer, and IRIS.
6. Insurance and Security Deposit
Basic Insurance (CDW/TP) is included in the rental price. The renter remains fully liable for the total amount of any damage.
A €750 security deposit is required for the Basic Insurance (CDW/TP) and may be paid by credit card, debit card or cash.
Full Insurance is available with a €750 excess.
A €750 security deposit is also required for Full Insurance and may be paid by credit card, debit card or cash.
7. Fuel Policy
Same to Same: The vehicle is delivered with a specific fuel level and must be returned with the same fuel level.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the missing fuel will be charged according to the current local retail fuel price on the return date.
No refund is provided for excess fuel remaining in the vehicle.
8. Mileage Policy
Unlimited mileage is included in the rental.
9. Additional Drivers and Extras
Available car extras:
Baby Seat: €3 per day
Booster Seat: €3 per day
Additional driver: €3 per day
10. Insurance Exclusions
Insurance coverage does NOT apply in the following cases:
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Unauthorized driver.
Off-road driving.
Incorrect fuel usage.
Lost keys.
Locking the keys inside the vehicle.
Interior damage.
Roof or undercarriage damage.
Failure to report an accident.
11. Accidents, Damages and Traffic Fines
In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately notify the company.
A police report is required for every accident.
The renter must complete and retain the European Accident Statement (Friendly Accident Report) at the accident scene.
Taking photographs at the accident scene is recommended and/or required.
The renter is fully responsible for all traffic fines, parking tickets and toll charges incurred during the rental period.
12. Vehicle Use Restrictions
The rented vehicle may only be used for lawful purposes on suitable public roads.
Only drivers listed in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle.
Pets are permitted only when transported inside a suitable pet carrier. Pets are not allowed to travel freely inside the vehicle.
13. Vehicle Delivery, Collection and Out-of-Hours Service
Available delivery and collection locations are displayed during the booking process.
Additional charges may apply for delivery or collection in remote areas outside our operating base.
14. Ferry Transport and Travel Restrictions
Transporting the vehicle by ferry is permitted only with the company's prior written authorization.
Travel outside the island/operating area is permitted only with prior written authorization.
Unauthorized travel or ferry transport automatically voids all insurance coverage.
15. Cancellation, No-Show and Early Return
Reservations may be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled rental start time.
For cancellations made less than 48 hours before the rental start time, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total rental cost will apply.
16. Vehicle Return, Cleanliness and Inspection
The vehicle inspection upon return is carried out in the presence of a company representative.
The vehicle must be returned in a reasonably clean condition.
17. Data Protection and Privacy
The company collects and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR - EU 2016/679).
Personal data is used exclusively for purposes related to the vehicle rental.
Personal data will only be disclosed to third parties where required by law or to service providers necessary for the operation of the rental service.
18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Greece.
